A Drop of... Frankincense

The Oil of Truth

Frankincense has the title of being the King of Oils, and for good reason. Its history can be traced through civilisations of Babylonians, Assyrians and ancient Egyptians. Frankincense has also been associated with a number of religions, most notably Christianity where it was one of the gifts given to the baby Jesus by the Three Wise Men. Historically, Frankincense has been used in ceremonies, perfumes and salves.

With its warm, spicy aroma, Frankincense promotes feelings of peace and relaxation, as well as spiritual and emotional wellness. When applied topically, its soothing and beautifying properties help to revitalise the appearance of the skin and to reduce the appearance of imperfections.

Emotionally, Frankincense is known as the Oil of Truth. It invites individuals to let go of lower vibrations, lies, deceptions and negativity. It is a powerful cleanser of spiritual darkness and by connecting the soul with its inner light, this oil reveals the truth. Frankincense supports in creating a healthy attachment with one’s father and can enhance practices of prayer and meditation.

Frankincense comes in a 15mL bottle and combined with Fractionated Coconut Oil in a convenient roll-on applicator as Frankincense Touch. When using topically, I suggest diluting with a carrier oil to minimise any skin sensitivity.

Here are some practical ways you can use Frankincense at home:

  • Add a couple of drops to your bath for relaxation and to revitalise your skin.

  • Diffuse during prayer or meditation to enhance spiritual connection.

  • Add a drop to your moisturiser to help reduce the appearance of skin imperfections.

  • Massage on the bottoms of feet to promote feelings of relaxation and to balance mood.

  • Rub into your hands, neck, or bottoms of feet for a soothing, warming effect.

  • Massage on the temples throughout the day to balance the emotions and enable a calm contented feeling.

  • Roll on pulse points and forehead during yoga or meditation.
